Spring is almost here and summer is not far behind! These all natural Fruit Spritzers will help get you through the warm days of summer feeling refreshed.
I gave up soda years ago, even before I resented corn and all it’s become. If you look down a soda aisle in the grocery store you probably see bottles and colors and sweetness. I see corn. CORN syrup, corn sweeteners, corn-derived preservatives. We were never meant to ingest all that corn, my friends, especially after it’s been genetically modified to add a pesticide and an herbicide.
Here’s my summer answer to commercially-made soft drinks. I don’t use a recipe, every drink is made individually and to taste.
I use concentrated fruit juices with San Pelligrino sparkling water. I buy it by the case at Sam’s Club but you could use any kind of sparkling water you like. Concentrated fruit juices are carried in the health food section of some grocery stores and at natural foods store. They’re easily found online too. Pomegranate, black cherry, grape and blueberry are just some of the flavors I’ve found. Be creative and mix them up for a fruit punch flavor. I use stevia most often in my drinks but on days I’m doing a lot of work outside in the hot sun I use real, cane sugar. It takes a little longer to dissolve but I don’t mind. I try to remember not to live in a world where I expect immediate results all the time. That leads down an egocentric path.
My favorite and most simple summer drink is to use fresh squeezed lemon and lime with a little stevia to create my own Lemon/Lime “soda.” It’s perfect for an afternoon in the garden when hydrating is imperative.
I’d love to hear of any natural summer drinks you and your family love. Post in the comments below!
