Coffee is a staple in our house and so is All-natural Coffee Creamer. In fact, when we renovated our kitchen a few years ago one of the highest priorities was to put a coffee station in. It is probably the most used area of that kitchen now and definitely one of the most loved. I love that when friends visit they can just grab their own coffee. We put the station in a high traffic area so it doesn’t ever feel as though you’re invading someone else’s space when you’re filling up your cup.
The coffee station is supplied with many different brands and flavors of coffee as well as a variety of sweeteners, spoons, collagen and extracts. But, not everyone wants to spend a lot of time doctoring up their cup ‘o joe. That’s where pre-mixed coffee creamers come in!
Many years ago on my food journey, I gave up commercially-made coffee creamers. Did you know they put stuff in there to MAKE it white?! Shouldn’t “cream” already be white (or in our farm cream’s case, yellowish)? If you’d like to be horrified, just read the ingredient label below for Coffee Mate that I grabbed from Wikipedia.
- corn syrup solids.
- vegetable oil (including partially hydrogenated soybean and/or cottonseed oil)
- sodium caseinate.
- dipotassium phosphate.
- mono- and diglycerides.
- sodium aluminosilicate.
- artificial flavour.
- annatto color.”
Ain’t nothin’ real about that!
So, I’ve been making my own creamers for a long, long time. I can’t believe I waited this long to share it with you all. So sorry.
Making your own coffee creamers is SO simple. Seriously. It’s only half & half (or heavy cream) mixed with sugar (or sweetener of your choice) and some flavor extract. I make sure to buy real flavoring extracts and nothing with artificial flavors because if you do that, then why make your own? The point is to increase the nutritional value, not decrease it or settle for the same.
Today I’m only featuring three flavors here but I’ll be adding more to this post over time. These three are some of my favorites – especially the coconut rum! You should try it.
Play around with the flavors! I’ve included links to some great extracts below. You may come up with a new favorite combo. If you do, please stop back to this post and share it in the comments. We all love us some coffee creamer!
*I’ve had a difficult time finding real, natural flavorings at my local stores so here are some links to the flavorings I’ve ordered online.

Where do you purchase real flavoring extracts? Also just wondering where you live..I am south of York.thats why I asked…? Thanks have a great day.
Hi Cindy,
I get my extracts online from Amazon. I believe I put links in the blog post to flavors I’ve used. I am up near Reading but we do not have a good source for organic flavorings here.
